UTILITY / CSM FINAL
“Utility” was inspired by my research of the building of the London Bridge. Specifically I focused on the “Forgotten People”, lower class workers who lost their lives in the course of the 33 years of construction of the bridge. To represent the lives of the workers, including those who were homeless, I used a sleeping bag as the foundation for my puffer jacket. The pants are made of a coated canvas, a common material found in construction apparel, selected for its durability and protective nature.
